This past Sunday Watkins Glen International Raceway was open to the public for the opening weekend. For $20 you could get 3 paced laps around the track. I decided to take my 2002 93 5 door.. and let me tell you!! That thing impressed the heck out of me! Now, granted, you could only open up once in a while when you sat back and let the car in front of you get ahead. This was the first time i went around in a car. I have driven it on my Motorcycle a few times.

The first 3 laps were boring. Some family in a Mazda 6 was afraid to go into a corner more than 10mph. The second 3 were an absolute riot! I had a couple of high school kids in a Jetta that were driving it for all she was worth (smelled nothing but clutch!). I was able to get up to 90+ a couple times, and easily navigated the inner loop at 60+ twice. that thing stuck like glue to the track. I was sort of afraid to drive it too hard, but after the 4th lap, i had no fear of it.

Even the guy following behind me in a newer mercedes cl 500 came up to me afterwards and was really surprised how that thing was handling...

We did the entire course, even the "Boot".
