the difference in mpg vs tire compound I bet wouldn't be measurable thus I would just get whatever you want. I would be more concerned about how long you want the tires to last then mpg the tire compound or tread design will cause.

I beleive the MXV is more of a all season tire then a dedicated summer tire. If you want something summer oriented a great way to begin is to simply go to tirerack.com & see what they have to offer. There are usually LOTS of options available & as you probably already know the higher the treadwear number the longer the tread is suppose to live.

if you want a 50/50 tire I would think something on the lines of what you have now would be in order. It's a tire that doesn't do anything excellent but does everything well with descent treadlife. A dedicated summer tire might give you 49.9/50.1 :)
