9-3 Starting Problem when warm

Turn the key and all the lights on the dash come on like normal but there is no crank from the starter. There is no error in the SID and everything looks OK but the starter doesn't turn the engine over. This problem will last for 15 to 30 minutes and then the car finally starts. This seems to occur when the temperature is warm and when the car has only been
sitting for 5 to 10 minutes. I've tried moving the trans. selector
from Park to all other gears then back to Park and it doesn't help. I've
tried starting in Neutral and that doesn't help either. I've tried jiggling the ignition key and that doesn't help and I've tried jiggling it when it's running and it doesn't cause the engine to stop so it doesn't seem like an ignition switch problem. It always starts
OK each morning when engine is cold so it's not a cold starting problem. The is a 2000 9-3 with auto tranny and 47K miles. I think the battery is
OK and the clamps on the battery are clean and tight. In fact the last time it happened I used some jumper cables to the battery from another car and it still wouldn't start. I also tried tightening the power cable to the starter.
I was thinking that it might be the transmission or neutral range switch issue but if that were the problem then wouldn't I see an error in the SID when I try to start?? When this problem ocurs there are no errors displayed. I hate to spend money throwing new parts in it when they aren't causing the problem.
Anyone have any ideas?
