The question you have to ask yourself is: what is the probability that I will find another $5k car that's as nice in the near future? I just asked myself this exact same question about a month ago when I had to replace my '96 900 SET 5dr due to an inattentive driver that rear-ended my wife into the back of an SUV (anybody need parts?)

I found locally a one-owner '95 900 SET with 120k mi on it that had many of the things that normally need to have done at 100k mi already done to it by an enthusiast. The car was meticulously cared for, and came with complete history dating back to purchase date in '95. For this, I gladly paid $5k. Every other vehicle I looked at--and there were many--including newer Saabs, were in worse shape or needed more work or something. No matter how I did the math, this '95 came out the better deal.

I would like to know where folks are finding the same car for $2500, as I would like to shop there next time I need a car. Pricing is very localized, and you have to compare the $5k Saab you're looking at against other $5k cars and against other used Saabs.
