The 900S' are sweet Saabs, no where near any major wear issues at 100k. The normally aspirated four is pretty gutsy. My 95 900S is an auto and the autos work fine too. If yours is getting "beat up" then maybe she needs some TLC or maybe you feel like I do and don't sweat the cosmetics that much on an older car. You should be able to keep one on the road with nothing more serious than a clutch. Are you HVAC controls still twisting freely? That's one of the weak spots to the tune of $600 ish.
Peppy, economical, lotsa' luxury features, practical with the hatch, and very safe with dual airbags, ABS and good strong Swedish steel everywhere.
She's got another 100k in her for sure with proper maintenance. Who's your mechanic? You should know them on a first name basis with a 100k car. Take it there religiously every 5k for recommend service and you'll be fine, and reliable.
