High line 100k territory and boat payments..... Posted by Mike Lynch [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Is this what I can expect?, GPSaab, Tue, 4 Sep 2007 14:19:40 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Dunno' who your indy is, but you shoulda' taken the car to him first. Then it woulda' been a little tougher for him to make his boatpayment by you, which it sounds like he's trying to do.
The whole scenario kinda' makes you appreciate why folks buy newer cars doesn't it? Itsa' "game of backwards" as I call it. The folks who can only afford (or think they can only afford) the older higher mileage cars, and who can least afford it, wind up suffering the most at repair bill time.
I does seem like you've had some bad luck. You're right, a Saab will do the 2nd 100k without showing the wear, but I've been there and done that with repairs like yours to Audis, BMWs and Mercedes too. I'm of the opinion that once a car is fixed right it stays fixed, but there are cars that regardless of make, are just trouble prone. Overall Saabs are quite average in this regard and better than a couple of popular brands I've mentioned. I recently gave up on a 900SE vert with a V6 owing to electric top and engine leaks, so I feel you pain.
