As others indicated that all could be typical, you'd have to hope for a competent call on the HG. Some head bolts may have been loose from factory compromising the gasket over time (if this is the 4 cycl).
But the price sounds reasonable for all that work, you can expect Buffalo climate to eat away at brakes, exhaust, anything exposed.
Get as much info about the head gasket situation. IMO a oil sample analysis at oil change following HG work will determine if anything is in the oil that shouldn't be there.
Neglecting issues at this point will certainly be more costly, best to stay one step ahead on maintenance.
