Head gaskets are not at all unusual for ANY car at that age/miles. As long as it didn't get inordinately overheated it should be fine. At this stage you will be putting repairs into the car on a regular basis--typically once or twice a year. Most of it will be wear items like brakes muflers, tires, batteries etc. I would figure around $800-1000 a year for the next 3-4 years. If you've taken car of the car you shouldn't have any major repairs for the next 40-60K. By and large it will be significantly cheaper to own than a new car or newer used car ($200 a month is $2400 a year).
