First, I'm not the best one to help diagnose this sort of problem, but have struggled through the job a couple of times myself. I don't see how the throw-out bearing sleeve could be installed incorrectly--maybe it's dented or bent but wouldn't you have seen that. I did have trouble with the cable adjusting correctly at first so the clutch didn't work. I also had to make sure the linkage was correctly aligned. One thought would be to jack up the car and try it without any load--you could put the car in gear and see if the wheels turn (only one will turn unless you hold the other) I'd think that the shafts must be all the way seated into the transmission or it would leak, but this was a bit of a challenge for me too. Did you get it fixed by now?
