I have a'97 900SET 122K. Clutch was working fine although with high pedal pressure and noisy release bearing. Found it difficult to spray the bearing with a lubricant so I bought a grease gun, a grease fitting, 3 feet of 1/4" copper tubing and a cylinder of bearing grease. The fitting screws into one end of the tubing then into the gun. Partially crimp the other end of the tubing so it's flat and narrow. Now it can fit into places all around the bearing where you can lubricate it and the shaft it slides on. I did this last year and once since then and I can barely hear the release bearing now. Worth a shot if your clutch is ok but your release bearing is noisy.
The access opening is on the front side of the bellhousing covered by black plastic - it's a goofy fit but it just pulls out. Move a few things out of the way to make it easier. Someone to push in the clutch as you do this helps to spread the grease better - of course, be careful to avoid the clutch.
