I would think the car with a blown engine would be worth around $1300-$1600, but that's hard to say without seeing it. If I was looking at a Viggen that had a salvage engine installed in it, I wouldn't pay more than $5500. If you are considering a repair and resell, I think the only way to go is to have the original engine rebuilt/repaired. Just looking at Viggens on the classified board, the going rate at that age and mileage seems to be around $7000.
