Nearly dead battery and low beam & low fan relay noise

1999 9-3 base with 166K miles in a rather cold suburban Chicago garage.
Went to start the car this morning, after not being driven for two days, and battery was nearly dead, (1 yr. old Die Hard International). I heard a chattering under the hood. Determined it was the Low Beam relay, pulled it and still heard chatter. Determined it was now the Low Fan replay, pulled it and no more noise, (the car has seemed to be running a little cool as of late). If I place either relay back in either socket it starts to chatter.
Is this a real problem, and if so what should I look at, (new relays, something else)? If it is just an issue caused by a very low battery charge, is there anything special I should do (or shouldn't do) with the relays when jumping it?
