Thanks, Jim. I am actually upgrading (not huge on modifying things myself, but this seems like a set up that should have come straight from the factory on the Viggen) the rear brakes to the 9-5 aero setup, so they'll be very similar to the front brakes.
As for the brake pads, I guess that they do in fact rust? I was especially concerned since I removed the paint by filing it off. I assume the paint is there to prevent rust from forming. Anyhow, I'll keep an eye out and I'll lubricate the parts without paint.
