Thanks for the replies. I went ahead and removed the transmission last evening. There was a few handfuls of fibers between the clutch and transmission that kind of looks like a bunch of steel wool. I've never done a clutch before, but I'm guessing it is at least partly a clutch problem. I didn't have time to remove the pressure plate yet, any ideas how to keep the flywheel from turning while loosening the bolts?
I don't think it is failed springs as i tried to "drive" it up on jack stands, and no wheels movement.
There were a lot of shavings on the drain plug magnet, but I already drained it without straining it, so still unsure if it a transmission problem as well
