Others have talked about removing the door panel, but let me clarify what you heard about the door speakers only producing bass. Since you have the SE, you almost certainly have the upgraded sound system. The head unit in the dash drives the front dash speakers and the speakers in the rear deck. The front door speakers are driven by an extra amp that is mounted behind the center console kick-panel in the passenger footwell. That amp has a crossover to only send bass to the door speakers. So, what the notice on Crutchfield's site meant is that if you want to get full range sound from new door speakers, you need to drive them with an amp that will send the full range of sound to them. But, if you just want to replace the door speaker(s), that if fine. You will just only get bass like you do now so there is no need to get an expensive speaker that performs well on the top end. Just shop for a midbass speaker, as was suggested, or a full range speaker with good bass output.
If you are only replacing one speaker, you will want to get one with similar sensitivity ratings to the one you are replacing.
