Ok, tried looking things over a bit tonight, and got more questions than answers.
Decided to change oil, when I popped it open, there was smell of gasoline. Oil change was past due, so that and the gas smell I was thinking maybe I was on to something.
Then I noticed the PCV (yes, #6 update installed years ago) was disconnected at the throttle body. Pulled it off, and it was full of clear liquid - think gas.
So turned it over, and after it ran a few minutes, oil light back on at idle speed. There is a sound that seems like a bearing on idler pully, kind of a whooshing, off the passenger side of the block...
Thoughts for what to check next?
'97SET, with 167k on ODO, so it's a B204, could this be sludge though? Any thoughts appreciated, wanted to get this to 200k, and it's the daily driver (no backup cars in the stable currently).
