I used slot 15 since my car doesn't have DRL's, you'll have to find your own spot on the fuse box to tap in to if you have a 95 or later. can't help you there. It's been about 18 months, so details are a bit fuzzy...

I used the inline fuse and a tap that fits on one side of a blade fuse. Then run the wire out the back of the fuse box and up thru the driver side dashboard speaker panel- the grate removes with a little pulling (i believe) there was a nice hole there as i recall.

that speaker area buts up with the a-pilar and the a-pilar cover is formed in a fashion that yields a nice gap to run a small wire up there. The healdiner meets the windshield in a similar fasion and is able to completley hide the wire. The only point that the wire is exposed (other than where it runs straight down to the detector) is where the a-pillar and roof meet, it is not noticible to anyone tho. I used a small piece of electircal tape to secure that bend.

i went to radioshack for the wiring and accessories. I got something with their modular plugging system and brought my detector in to match the plug. make sure to get a wire where the pos. and neg. wires are 2 distinct wires (looks like a lamp cord) ... and NOT intertwined (looks like the cable running to your TV)- this makes it easy for you to splice one wire to your fuse box and the other to ground. I believe pos goes to fusebox and negative goes to ground (not sure) and you'll have to consult your radar detector for the polarity of the tip.

I mounted my (Whistler) radar detector about even with my rear-view, on the drivers' side. It is positioned so that i can still put the sun visor down without any interference, and the black coating on the windshield is not an issue. the wire runs straight down from the headliner and i secured it to the detector mounting bracket with another little piece of electrical tape.

If you have any other questions let me know
