I wired mine up to mount on the underside of the driver side visor. I tapped into the fuse location for the rear seat heaters (I think), using a blade fuse that I modified (machined off the plasticto expose the metal inside and soldered the wire end to it). I also have an inline fuse (blade type), and I wired the negative to ground under the dash.
If you've got a multimeter, a soldering iron, and the wiring from Radio shack, you're all set. My detector came with an additional cable for hardwiring, so it was pretty easy to attach the inline fudse, mod the terminating blade fuse, and hook it up.
I did the same setup in my fiance's old Accord, and in her new VW GTI. No problems!
Good luck - JMJ
