Sorry to read of the failure. Before saying you should get more from SAAB, do you know the history of timing belt replacements? They should be replaced at 35k, 65k, 95 k miles (at SAAB cost) and each 30k after that (at your cost). If belt was not replaced at 65k, then the failure is not unexpected at 90k. If the maintenace was not done, as set out in the owner's manual, then SAAB will naturally be reluctant to pay the whole bill or even a big part of it. If the replacements were done to schedule, then SAAB should pay some of the cost but they will not give you a new engine (since there is 90k miles wear already). Others may be able to give you an estimate on a total engine replacement (or you could search the archives on this BB) but SAAB seems to have made a reasonable offer.
