I have not seen it mentioned on this BB, but why not consider this to be another simple plumbing job and use a dab of sealant on the plug threads and the copper washer? I use Permatex Form-A-Gasket No. 2 saalant and have never had to replace the washer and have never had a leak.The sealant is non-hardening and breaks losose easily at the next oil change.
