You are correct: I do have an automatic transmission. This is my first Saab so I don't have anything to compare it to. I don't know anything about the engine or trans. mounts - what are they like and are they expensive to fix/replace?
Tried the cig. lighter with the ignition on and everything works fine (phew!). All I need now is a couple of spacers to make my phone plug etc. fit the socket (Radio Shack?).
Unless anyone can shed some light on the alarm issue, I think I'll be taking it to my indie Saab tech for further investigation. On a related note, can you recommend an aftermarket keyless entry package for this model/year. I've heard a couple of good things about Cifford, but I'm (four years) new to the USA and not familiar with domestic brands.
Thanks to all for your help.
