Sorry I took so long getting back to you - I've been spending all of my time looking for a Volvo 850 for the wife. Got one now, so back on the Snob.
The buzz seems to come from the front somewhere, I'll try again tonight to see if I can nail the location down further. The dash alarm LED doesn't illuminate either for some reason.
Interesting comment about the lock switch on the centre console - I don't have one :( Just a blank insert where I guess it should be, which incidentally, looks like a stock factory part. Did all '94 900SE's have this switch fitted? Is its absence evidence of past trouble? Power locks/central locking works just fine with the key (outside) or by pushing the door button in (inside).
I had the driver door panel off last night as the door speaker needs replacing (more on this later). Is there something I can check for (wiring etc.) that would tell you if something is amiss on the alarm system.
I don't know what I'm looking for/at in terms of door sensors et al.
Everything else electrical on the car (lights, SID, windows, etc.) works just fine. I even took out the previous owners FM-mod. CD changer and replaced it with the direct conn. Clarion from my VW without any problems last Summer.
Back to the door speakers: where can I get a replacement SAAB unit for the driver door only? If this is not possible, what are the aftermarket make/model choices (for the budget conscious, please)?
Thanks for your help,
Nigel
