Need the miles on the vehicle, year and what kind of driving. City, commute or mixed.
You will have glazed the clutch, but a single episode is not much of a worry. It may be good for years if it is not slipping under regular driving.
The clutch does not care about what gear that you are in. There is more torque in 3rd gear. So if youi can go full throttle in 3rd gear from 2500 to 4500RPM then everything is fine.
A burnt clutch smell does linger. Take it easy and perhaps it will recover from some glazing.
If the lining is actually bady worn, then a single episode like this is not the cause but a sign of wear. Clutch life is determined by city VS highway driving and your clutching style. The wear on a clutch could easily vary by 100:1 with different drivers.
