The MBC is a manual boost conroller which can be used to regulate boost. It is used to replace the ECU BPC boost pressure control valve, which is hosed to the turbo and mounted near the RH headlamp. The MBC at http://www.dawesdevices.com, for $35US works well. So for folks who are inclined to go after more power, this is definately the route to take if the BPC valve fails, which costs close to $200.
When increasing boost, clean injectors, proper plugs in good shape, and good fuel are essential. Mobil One suggested and better oil filters.
You can install a K&N 33-2663 filter and modify the air box. The Saab Sports exahaust works well and will not rust out. By this time if you have not already, install a new flex pipe if you install a new exhaust system. They do not last forever and get brittle with age and seem to go down hill after the stress of exhaust work or trany work etc.
The MBC will provide close to 15 PSI of boost and full boost in the 1st two gears. You will be spinning your tires 1/2 way across the intersection if you are not carefull. There are some downsides to the MBC, but you don't hear of folks going back. There are some things that you can to to get better than the default install. Search for MBC.
Make sure that you have the right plugs and clean the injectors with techron Concentrate if you have not been using.
Check battery electrolyte levels 3x's per year.
