I am always careful to say 'thottle body transition casting'. Because I don't want someone trashing their throttle body.
The casting is the cast aluminum elbow, with the intake air sensor thermistor screwed into it. It is removed via 2 10mm head head bolts and seals with an 0-ring.
A dremmel tool is not a good idea, as it is definately not conformal. It will allow you to dig deep and wild. A 1" drum sander, medium grit, on a fex shaft will offer the best control, effectiveness and safety. A larger drum sander could be used after things start to open up, but when a drum sander gets near to the size of the opening, dangerous oscillations can develop that can rip the casting from your hands and cause injury.
The idea is to blend out the 3/16" to 1/4" step reduction of the inside diameter at the small inlet end. The opening also is rarely concentric. Taper the edge down to the thickness of the joining hard pipe.
The exit lip can be corrected to a 2mm lip thickness. See older posts for further details.
