Martin, I have never heard of a serpintine drive belt tensioner failing on a SAAB, and i dont know how one breaks the square hole. the two idler pulleys are a different matter. if, at 77000 km you are replacing the belt, and there is no abnormal noise coming from the idlers, i suggest you remove and re pack them! on the bench clean the seal area on one side. with a sharp pick or needle, pry carfully under the outside diameter of the seal. if it bends sligtly simply straighten it back out by hand. the important part is to avoid damaging the inside lip of the seal. squease a small amount of bearing grease into the bearing and re install the seal. after performing this service on over a dozen saabs in the last 3 years my success rate is 100%.
