I have a 95 900S 3dr 5sp that has the same problem of intermittent high idle. I know our cars are different but I think we traded posts last summer. Sorry that you still have the same problem.
Last summer I replaced the AIC after finding that pinching the hose brought down the idle. Wastes $220 on the stupid valve. It calmed down over the winter but now that it is getting warmer in Connecticut the high idle is showing up more frequently. Inspected all the vacuum hoses and even replaced a few. Again, no change. Something is telling the AIC to open but I don't know what. If I could get to the ECU I would check it's connections for corrosion or bad internal solder joints.
I could live with it except for the never being able to tell if the car is going to slow when I lift off of the throttle. It gets kind of spooky in 70mph commuter traffic.
Sorry I couldn't help. I'll post if I find anything.
Mike
