Thanks, I believe you'll have to FIRST change out the plugs to NGK's and as I recall, it's a narrow gap range--like 0.024" to 0.028" --0.024' works best, at least for me.
In my old '86 900s 16 valve, the plugs were BCP 6 ES. In Scandinavia, the plug was BCP 5 ES ,as I recall--please double check the proper heat range where you live.
In fact, MOST ALL SAAB TECHNICIANS were factory taught to FIRST change out any "other brand-name" spark plugs to NGK's before continuting with their diagnostic work. It saved thousands of dollars in repairs/warranty claims.
Now if there STILL is a problem, everything was then on a level playing field, so to speak.
90 plus percent of ALL run problems in SAABS is virtually eliminated by installing the NGK plugs.
Has been the story for OVER 20 YEARS of my SAAB driving experience.
