so as it turns out, this issue is one of the contact between surfaces. this "noise" happens only when i make a right turn while accelerating, and it is because something in the wheel well or around there is rubbing up against the tire or that area. i looked closely, and in the driver's side front wheel well, there is a large flap of plasic in the "fore" of the well that is supposed to be held down by a number (2-4) of the large plasticky screw/bolt things, and there are two missing which has set the flap free to rub up against the wheel/tire when turning. however, if i cut the wheel all the way to the right while the car is immobile, there is no contact made between surfaces. maybe that's because acceleration/gravity floats the body of the car rearward on the suspension? hmm... what do i do now?
