Gear lube problems

I have changed the oil in my gear box over the weekend for the first time since I have own the car. I do not know what oil was inside when I got the car. I got 2 liters of Castrol 10W30 and when I opened up the drain, the oil looked pretty clean. The only dirty stuff was on the magnetic part of the drain plug. I refilled it (what a PITA) and now after two days, I see no difference... even worst, I think that it was better before. It seems as if the first gear is harder to get in then before. I have never had problems with the gears, but I have found the gears to be somewhat harder to get in than most of the cars that I have own before. It's my first Saab. Could it be that the car has Synthetic Oil before I got it. I know that work was performed on the syncro. Would that require an gear flush. If s, what are the chances that the Saab dealer put synthetic on the car and WHAT SHOULD I DO ???
