(from a previous post)
Dean and other SAS swaybar owners;
I did it this am. The bolts, nuts, washers and lock washers fit perfectly without any drilling. The result is a snug fitting assembly that can be torqued down seriously. The suspension "pop" is gone and the car feels more solid. As suspected, the wimpy ill-fitting factory bolts were the weak link in the chain. When I originally installed this thing I had my doubts about the oversized holes in the swaybar and the oversize holes in the axle stamping and when I torqed the OEM 8mm bolts they felt rubbery like one more foot pound would break them. These feel good and solid and can take all the torque one can possibly apply, also have a beefy 17mm head instead of the wimpy 13mm.
Also I got them about 3/16" shorter so they wouldn't bind into the lower spring mount like the OEM ones did. The bolts are 10.9 (high strength) and even match the finish of my SAS swaybar, SAS should supply them with the swaybar, or at least advise their customers. I also used Loctite Blue.
These should stay tight unlike the others which had to be snugged up every couple of weeks. You will do away with the OEM Saab nut brackets, and replace with a flat washer and nut for each hole. Dont worry, there is rrom to do this, you can get a 17mm open end wrench on the forward nuts and use a 3/8" drive 17mm shallow socket to secure the nut on the rearward attachments. If need be, you can clean out holes in axle with a round file, but I didn't even need this. Took me about 30 minutes.
You will need (all 10mm dia, bolts are 40mm long)
