Your car SHOULD run better in the winter. You dont have the drag of the AC system, you probably have the heater on which is helping to cool the engine somewhat and you have cold air entering the engine, even the turbo air is cooler and cold air is more dense than hot air.

It is hotter than hell here, and my turbo Saabs are always a little on the pokey side in the summer. Just pray your AC doesnt crap out when the heat index is 118 (probably does not happen in Montreal).
