All 205-50-16 size on 1994 SE 2.0t
Michelin Pilot HX - OEM - wore out in 22,000 miles - good dry handling, quiet, low road noise, expensive, awful in wet - rating - 5.
Goodyear RSA - wore out in 35,000 miles - good dry and wet handling, cheap, moderate noise level and harshness as tires began to wear and age - rating - 6.
Dunlop D60A2 - wore out at 40,000 miles - good dry handlingand moderate in wet, tended to hydroplane, quiet and smooth, cheap, this tire no longer sold - rating - 6.5.
Bridgestone RE730 - replaced at 18,000 miles due to obnoxious noise level, good wear, excellent dry handling, very good in wet weather, moderate cost, harsh ride and VERY, VERY NOISY after 8,000 miles, this tire has been "improved" due to our bitching to TireRack and Bridgestone - rating - 4.
Dunlop SP9000 - around 10,000 miles to date but wearing well, expect them to last at least 30,000, good dry handling, excellent wet handling and resistance to hydroplaning, very quiet and comfortable, built in rim protection, look good, moderate cost, best all around tire on my car so far - rating - 9.
Note that none of these tires are good where it snows. It does not where I live so I can run these 12 months a year.
Tires I would consider if cost was no object;
Bridgestone S03
Michelin Pilot Sport
Suggest you study TireRack's website - owner's survey on specific tires you are considering. If you want a smoother ride at the expense of handling crispness, you may want to try a 55 series tire where there are so many choices it will make your head spin.
