To get the sound quality you are looking for you should replace all your speakers. Okay I know that this is and obvious statement, but replacing just one set wont fix the imbalance. I suggest that you purchase the 3 ½” Infinity Kappas for the dash, 6 ½” 2-way for the doors and the 3-way 6x9 for the rear. If you only want to purchase the door speakers then you should get the 3-way.

I have Infinity Kappas Components and believe they were worth the money I paid for them (e-Bay), although I never had the Reference Series so I can’t vouch for those.

The distorted and "farty" sounds you refer to is cause by both the amp and the speakers, not by the door. I have Infinity Kappa component woofers in the door which were driven by the stock amp for a while. They sounded better than stock and were clear, but the sound was a little distant as best I can describe. I recently installed a 4-channel amp to power the front speakers and I am very happy with the Infinities, they sound very clear and vibrant. I am pretty picky with my sound quality though and I think most people would be happy with the stock amp and Infinity speakers.

I just finished wiring up my entire system a few days ago. I have the Infinity Kappa components in front, Polk 6x9 in the rear and two 10” MTX subs, a Kenwood amp for the subs and an Audiobahn 4 channel amp for the rest.
