I had some second thoughts, and pulled it out last night and oiled it. There is a sindered bronze bearing plug exposed from the outside. I oiled that and oiled the interior. Get oil into the inboard bearing area and old inverted for a while to get the oil in there. Don't worry about where excess oil goes.
The carb cleaner is too much like a degreaser, so that is why I oiled it. What oil? Anything handy.
The ECU is quite happy with the IAC once it found out that it was working differently.
