Thanks for the feedback. I just ordered the mirror and I believe the motor is included. The mirror operated almost as it should have before I attempted to fix it: It seemed to "catch" sometimes in it's adjustment but then would relent a few miles down the road and go into adjustment - like my electric seat. I think the rattle in my case was not the belt as the final prying snapped the head of the belt + a 1/2" section - the head's whereabouts in my garage is unknown and I have this sorry piece of toothed nylon in my pocket to remind me of my dunce capacity.
BTW, I tried to get the triangular interior cover off by prying it in accordance with Hayne's and it won't budge. I looked at my EPC parts list and it shows "rivets" listed for the convertible although it is not clear where they are located. Does the interior triangle trim piece for the mirror use rivets? There are two plastic circles that seem to be caps on the leading edge of the triangle; might they cover the rivets? I attempted to gingerly pry them off but they don't seem to want to budge. I'm a little gun shy about "prying" things at the moment so some advice would be appreciated.
