Don't want to re-hash what other people have already said, but for cold climates, do not ever put in 15Wanything. As for switching between 10w30 and 5w30 for summer/winter, I don't think there's any advantage to that for synthetic. They still have the same hot weight. The reasoning behind switching goes back to non-synth oils, which don't really hold their properties too well over wider ranges.
