Taking any SAAB to a non-SAAB mechanic is always asking for trouble. Don't do it!
Changing struts on a NG900 does *not* affect alignment in any way, so it's not necessary to realign like some other cars. In many other cars the whole strut assembly unbolts from the steering knuckle, which screws up the camber/castor settings sometimes. On a NG900 the strut housing is integrated with the steering knuckle, so there is no way the alignment will change unless you somehow damage the whole strut assembly during cartridge replacement.
I have aligned my SAABs by hand using alignment gauges. It is not any more difficult than any other cars. But doing it by hand seems very different than when using a computer alignment machine. You have to do a lot more work and the access to components is completely open.
