Wait until Monday when the verdict is in, but also make sure that they show you excactly what broke and why.
If they did something wrong, they better pay for it. If something out of their control broke, you have to understand that too.
We have heard of, and seen several different scenarios where the belt or a connected part broke. And it can be very difficult for a shop to know about all of these components and their weak spots. Even though the customer feels they should know everything.
The main blame should be held against the manufacturer, that created a weak engine like this. Especially since other manufacturer have been using timing belt for years without any problems.
First we had the belt itself that Saab said was weak (and started to replace for free). Than the tensioner was the culprit and it took a long time for Saab to replace them for free. Later on we heard about upper cam shaft sprockets coming off, and the rubber seal around timing cover getting tangled around the belt.
All these things leading to the same disastrous result and a damaged engine.
I hope everything turns out good for you though.
