Given your situation I'd consider footing the bill to have new valve guides installed while the heads are off, assuming you've got more than just a few miles on the engine. Now's the time and since youre not paying labor on the heads r&r why not. Guides are wear items and for the extra parts and machine work you'd be saving money in the long run not having to pull the heads again to do it in the future. Just my .02$
