Get a DI from eeuroparts.com and keep in in the truck, learn how to swap it out. All you need is the torx driver in the trunk. If the problem returns, install the new DI and see what happens. You will save the dealer cost of the DI and a tow truck, labor and hassles when the existing DI fails. I suggest that you do this now.
Start pulling and inspecting the plugs yourself. You need to know what they look like, this tells you whats happening in the combustion chamber. Use NGK BCPR6ES11's, gap at .035" for longest in spec gap. Blow or vac sand from around the plug bases before removal.
Battery electrolyte levels ok? Connectors clean and tight?
Was the O2 sensor backed out and re-installed? That can often overcome a contact resistance between the sensor and the exhaust system... which is the signal ground :( O2 sensors can last a long time.
The most critical vac line is from the TB to the MAP sensor.
There are lots of fuel smells when you start a cold engine, and when you backup you are going through the cloud of fumes.
Clean injectors? suggest Techron Concentrate.
Many fuel pumps seem to last forever, I would never suggest replacing the pump based on miles alone. Many DI's go beyond 100000 miles. But some older ones fail with less mimes. The ones that fail with years and less distance start to get flakey at about your miles, if they fail that way. With DI's that are not so old and more distance they often fail sudden death with no warning at all.
