I too was experiencing a vibration, primarily in 1st gear moving away from a dead stop. I suspected the tranny mount, and after reading your post, decided to pop for the part and try it.
When I removed the old tranny mount, I was disappointed to find the part completely intact, with no visually apparent defects. I put the new part in anyway, and was amazed at the difference. As Ed T. stated, the difference is HUGE!
And Ed, although your rear engine mount looked okay, I wouldn't be surprised that it also contributed to your vibration problems. I'm considering replacing mine also, even though my vibration is about 95% gone with the tranny mount replacement (but not 100%). I guess the rubber just fatigues and gets soft over time. In my opinion, you should toss the old engine mount you saved.
