Well, all I can offer from my perspective (95 900s with 15") is that these saabs are VERY picky about the integrety of the spin of the wheel/tire combo and the balance as well. I got a set of fondmetal wheels and yokohama tires that I've tried a couple of times to get "right" and so far no real luck. Wheels are very close to true, but the outer lip has no place for wheel weights and the attempted balance without stick-ons on the outer edge hasn't worked. For me, I'm first trying a set of Michelin's on the fondmetal rims with stick-on weights and also lip weights on the inside and see what I get. If I still don't get results, I'm going back the awfully boring OEM alloys to see what I can get.
In your case, I'd make sure the tire shop checks the wheel spin on the balancer without the tire and see if it's within specs. You have to look not only at wheel hop (radial runout) but also side-to-side wiggle (lateral runout). You said one tire had a slight bend in the outer rim - if that causes a lateral runout on the wheel, the tire will do it as well and you'll be chasing your tail. Straight wheels are required before you can mount any tire - than you have to make sure the tires aren't like egg's either - and these yokohama's I have are in that realm ... sigh...
Finally, my vibration is the opposite of yours - it does it from 50-65, but the vibration is worse when I let off the gas, and smoother when I accellerate - go figure.. :-)
that's my $.02
