Stupid clutch cable adjustment

OK group, For those who are lucky enough to have a NG900 with a clutch cable, how many of you have replaced that thing about every 50k miles? I am approaching 150k and my damned clutch cable is going out again.

I changed the original clutch out at 95k miles and what sucked about that is that one of the clutch fingers dropped and it would not disengage all the way resulting in gear crunching. Sent that over to J&B Imports ASAP to avoid having to change out synchros.

But that god damned clutch cable is such a piece of &$*@! I know you can reach under the fuse/relay box and tug on it and it will adjust a little but that's a pain in the ass.

I have found by accident that if you side step the clutch, that is step on it and then side step it to let it spring up off the floor, it will also adjust. Anyone find this as well? I figure I can't shorten its life more than it already is.
