Hi Again,
I didnt remove the unit, I laid in the trunk and first C-Clamped the gear house and motor together. I then used the hose clamps to hold it, making them fairly tight. After that alone the unit worked perfectly but I thought since I had the trunk apart why not do it in a way I know would hold forever. Two things to know, Saab offers a kit to this for about $10 I believe. I didn't know about that before making my bracket. Though I wouldn't change it now. The other thing is be sure to keep a tool in the car should something happen (Dead Battery Etc.) Preventing you from bring the top up electrically. There is a release handle that disengages the motor so the top can be raised manually. That feature will not work when the hose clamp is hold the unit together. So in case of an emergency always have a screwdriver in the trunk should you need to remove the clamps. Lets hope that never happens but none the less I have mine in the trunk. If I can be of further help let me know.
