1997 900SE T5
After sinking $4,000 into my 900 since Jan 2001 (1 month after purchase) including replacing the turbocharger myself(as of 2 weeks ago, $775), I'm not sure what to do about the clutch. Its always been stiff since I purchased it. Nov 2002, it snapped.. a week later, it stripped, 6 months later, it snapped again. That time I ordered a new one from eeuroparts.com and replaced it myself and has been holding ever since. The dealer suggests a $1200 clutch job and I'm not sure if that includes the shifter linkage (as suggested by SWEDECAR below) or not. Everytime I press on the clutch I anticipate it snapping again.. believe me its not a good feeling. A new clutch kit is $260, should the cable be replaced as well? Its $45.. so $305 in parts, plus seals. Or would it be worth to convert over to hydrolic? This car owns me, and I'm still in school, and independent.. (ie not a whole lot of cash) Maybe I got lucky and its going to hold this time.. a ticking time bomb...
Suggestions please...
