Thanks Andy!

There weren't any other warning signals that I noticed—but I'm just a girl who really likes SAABs and misses her 88 900T—I leave the technical stuff to my boyfriend and father. A few things happened in the past week that may or may not have something to do with this. First, the valve cover gasket was tinkered with; in the process a small hose leading into the gasket was broken. (It was just way too cold of a day to be working on cars, even inside.) We temporarily taped the hose back together but it wasn’t very secure since the tape didn’t stick due to the cold weather. The oil was also changed within the last week but I get SAAB filters from eeuroparts.com and I use good oil so I don't think that would be the cause although it could be a contributing factor. Shrug.

The only odd thing I noticed within the past few days on my car was that the temperature gauge was reading one notch below where it usually registers. I shoved that off because of the cold weather and some serious wind chills. I didn't really think anything of the different reading on the temp gauge. The coolant level is fine and the engine certainly hasn’t been running hot lately.

Do you think I can drive it 15 miles to my mechanic if I change the oil? Or should I be super safe and just have it towed?

I'll probably have it towed to my mechanic tomorrow morning so he can read the codes. Luckily, like many other SAAB owners, I have a fantastic mechanic with great guys working for him that take really good care of me and the car. The guy is so great that he even hooked me up with a mechanic in Chicago. Who ever needs SAAB work done in Wisconsin, come to Dan at the Auto Shop in Appleton! (And Saabtech if you’re in Chicagoland!) Sorry, I had to put that in there because their both such great shops.

I'll keep my fingers crossed,
Molly
