With the white stuff down on the reading part of the dipstick, I too was quite concerned. I also had no other noticable problems. (No oil in coolant, no cooling problems, no power or performance issues). I was quite concerned, though. I was leaking a slight bit of coolant around the outside of the head. I ended up doing two major things, both of which I hope have helped.
1 - I broke down and added "bar's leaks" powder (mixed with existing coolant) to the coolant resevoir.
2 - I removed the valve cover and re-torqued the head bolts (I was not certain if this had been done or not, and it did seem as if a few of them were fairly loose). There are links to the TSB's if you do a search on head bolt or something similar. Sorry to not have the link here. I guess is was a problem for certain NG's to have these bolts incorrectly torqued from the factory.
In my case I was noticing an increasing amt. of white stuff (a tiny bit when changing oil, a good amount a week later ... again all on the bottom of the dipstick). Yes it is colder so the condensation thing is possible, but with it that low i feared I was definitely leaking a bit of coolant in there ... even though it was slow and oil didn't appear in the coolant.
good luck.... if the mechanic does work, I would like to know what happens to see if there is anything else I should look at.
