This weekend, I installed my Dawes Device MBC. Worked as advertized, I am running right under the fuel cut, about half way into the red zone. Crazy Power, faster spool, lowest MPG ever - 17.3
OK, no more dropping the clutch in lower gears, including 3rd. Wheel spin is out of control - and I have good tires too. Something I will have to get used to. OK, it is well below freezing...
Probably need to replace the BPV, sometimes it "burps" under high boost (only happend twice, and I hope thats whats making that noise).
Two or 3 times, when accelerating heavily, when I'm still mid yellow on the boost dial, I hear a single quiet "ding", like a very small bell, or an electronic "bing". If its pinging, shouldn't I hear at least a couple dings in a row. I am running mid octane gas - should I switch up? Why would the MBC cause a difference at lower pressure?
Overall, I am very happy with this setup. Will now have to focus on getting the car to run cooler before summer gets here (sports exhaust).
Dawes MBC, 3in PVC intake, silencer removed, AIC/TB cleaned.
Short belt mod, SVH, new plugs and DI
new clutch and larger tires
Coming next 2 weeks:
new valve cover gasket, PCV gasket and doodad
engine flush, synthetic oil / larger filter.
