Well, I don't really care what my wax comes or smells like as long as it works. I've found that Zymol compared to many others, I've had better results with. And, even though my container of Carbon wax doesn't say to, I apply it with my bare hands - it helps also, to discover scratches, chips, blemishes, knicks, dings, etc. and with your hands (with mine, anyway, they're small!) you can fit into more places on the car without getting wax all over vinyl trim, in cracks, etc.
My biased Zymol opinion started several years ago when I got layed off from Saab & went on to work at Zymol for a few years. During those years I did a lot of researching into car care products and learned a lot from many car folks. It was a really fun job, talking to car enthusiasts all day & having car show events at the factory, etc. I've always had an appreciation for cars & keeping them nice. When it comes to protecting the paint, I'd never use something cheapo like Turtle Wax on my car.
And some of my friends will never see what I use on my car because I'd rather have some secrets about why mine looks a little better than theirs. ;)
I remember turning some race car drivers onto Zymol while working there & here were the guys at Grass Roots Mag whom everyone thought would never give Zymol a second look, they ran an article in their magazine after being sent a sample. They were sold on the results.
All that Vintage stuff & whatnot, that's the kinda stuff folks like Jay Leno, Lauren, etc. use on their cars and they can afford it. Actually, their "staff" takes care of their cars. And those fancy schmancy cases are for the folks who make the big bucks & want them as garage conversation pieces.
I think the natural ingredients Zymol talks about are for real - I can remember seeing Chuck (Bennett - Zymol founder/owner) when doing demonstrations eat the wax, so, there's obviously nothing in there that'll kill ya. I mean, I guess if you get hungry while detailing your car ... it does smell good enough to eat. You'd probably die if you ate some of those other products that use petroleums and whatnot. And I suppose if the stuff is okay for your stomach, it must be safe for your paint, too, right...??
Are you a detailer? Judging from some of your other posts, you seem like you work with this stuff for a living (?)
